COSTUMES

Costumes are almost done arriving at the studio and a number of them have already been sent home.  If during your dancers costume fitting it was noted that alterations were required we will get them to you as soon as they are complete.

It is important that the costumes not be worn at home until the dress rehearsal to ensure they remain in good condition and with all included accessories.  We are unable to order new costumes or replace any accessories that have been lost or gone missing.

Ideally costumes should be hung up out of their bags once at home to allow the wrinkles (specifically skirts and tutus) to fall out.  It is recommended that some of the skirts be steamed.  You can use a steamer or place in the bathroom and run the shower for 15minutes.  Please do not try to iron any of the dance costumes.

HOW SHOULD MY DANCER’S HAIR AND MAKEUP LOOK?

Click here for all of the hair, make-up and additional costume requirements for your dancers class.  It will direct you to a spreadsheet that will list exactly what is expected in terms of hair, make-up, shoes, tights and accessories for their class.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON APRIL 10TH & APRIL 11th

DRESS REHEARSAL & PICTURE DAY

WHAT IS A DRESS REHEARSAL?

Dress rehearsal gives dancers an opportunity to practice on stage in full costume, make-up and hair prior to the actual shows.  They will know exactly what to expect on the night of the performance including lighting, spacing/positioning, entering and exiting the stage. It is very important that everyone attend this rehearsal.

Dress Rehearsal takes place at CENTREPOINTE THEATRE and does take place a few weeks prior to the actual show nights.

CAN WE WATCH THE DRESS REHEARSAL?

Please Note – Dress rehearsal is a CLOSED TECHNICAL REHEARSAL.  Parents will not be permitted in the auditorium to watch the rehearsals.  The doors to the auditorium will remain closed at all times. Parents will be asked to wait in the Studio Theatre until your dancers class has had their picture taken.  At that time you may leave if your dancer has performed all routines or you may proceed to the change rooms to get ready for the next routine.

Click here for the dress rehearsal schedule then locate when your child is required to arrive at Centrepointe Theatre. Arrival times will be staggered to avoid having everyone arriving at once.

Please remember dress rehearsal is full costume, hair and make-up.  Once your child has finished their rehearsal and pictures for all of their routines we ask you to leave so we can free up space in the change rooms.

HOW DOES THE PICTURE DAY WORK?

As part of the recital experience every dancer will have their picture professionally taken with their class as well as individually in their recital costume.

Dancers will have a picture time following their stage rehearsal.  Pictures will take place in the Studio Theatre at Centrepointe, located near the backstage area.  There will be signs to direct you to the designated areas.

CLICK HERE to access the rehearsal/picture schedule

WHERE CAN I PURCHASE THE PICTURES?

Pictures will be available for purchase in the lobby of Centrepointe Theatre on all four show nights. Cash or cheques are the preferred methods of payment. Approximately $10 per photo
